Reparation, Voids, and Kintsugi…

Blessings in the Divine Will dear friends. Recently a reader asked a question about praying for a relative who was not Christian and had no intention of ever being one. She wondered if she should increase her prayers for this soul.  Don’t we all wonder that? The answer is, sort of. In the Divine Will, we don’t increase the quantity of our prayers, but the quality by praying the in a Divine way as Jesus teaches us through Luisa.

Along with her question, this friend also sent me the answer in the following passage from Volume 11, October 20, 1916:

[Luisa:] I was fusing myself in the Divine Will and the thought came to me of commending to It various people in a special way; and blessed Jesus told me: “My daughter, specificity goes by itself [follows] even if you should not place any intention. In the order of Grace it happens as in the natural order: the sun gives light to all, yet not everyone enjoys the same effects; however, this is not because of the sun, but because of creatures. […]

Then He added: “My daughter, I love the creature so much, that I Myself have placed Myself as sentry of each heart to watch them, to defend them and to work their sanctification with my own hands. But to how many bitternesses do they not subject Me? Some reject Me, some do not care about Me and despise Me, some lament about my surveillance, some slam the door in my face, rendering my work useless.  And I not only placed Myself to act as sentry, but on purpose do I choose the souls who live of my Will. In fact, since they are present in all of Me, I place them with Me as a second sentry of each heart. These second sentries console Me, repay Me for them [the souls who do not care about God], and keep Me company in the loneliness into which many hearts force Me; and they force Me not to leave them [the souls who do not care about God]. Greater grace I could not give to creatures [the souls who do not care about God], by giving them these souls who live of my Will, who are the portent of portents.”

The Lord is making ten points in this passage:

If we 1) live in His Will, we 2) are present in all of Him in all times and places with access to all souls of all time. He 3) places us as second sentries with Him in order to 4) console Him for the souls who do not care about Him, 5) repay or make reparation to Him for them, and 6) keep Him company in the loneliness into which many hearts that do not care about Him force Him. 7) In doing this we “force” Him not to leave those souls. 8) Greater grace God could not give the souls who do not care about Him, than to give them these souls who 9) live of His Will, which is the only thing he has ever asked us to do. 10) If we do so He does all the rest and we become the portent of portents, which is as great a prodigy as any!

But this passage is not primarily about us. Neither is it about that broken soul. The subject of this passage is God Himself. To be clear, it is not wrong to pray for a single soul, but by living in the Divine Will and doing our acts and rounds in It, with the sole intention to love God, console Him, make reparation to Him for all souls of all time, and keep Him company in his loneliness, He makes us true and necessary participants in the salvation of these souls, conduits of His extreme, merciful love and grace. And we feel nothing at all, because it is ALL HIM!

So, when we are worried about a relative or friend, let it serve as a reminder to offer consolation to Our Lord for all those who do not care about Him. He will take our prayers and multiply them to the infinite, doing unimaginable good to all souls of all time.

As I was mulling over this blog post, the Holy Spirit reminded me of something I learned about years ago, the ancient Japanese art called Kintsugi, where broken pottery is pieced back together and repaired with gold. It really is a beautiful representation of what God is doing for all the broken souls of all time through the unimaginable Gift of Living in the Divine Will. Our acts, rounds, and reparations in the Divine Will are the gold God uses to put the soul back together, to fill in the voids in the soul. It is stunning to contemplate! Just Google the word Kintsugi and see what souls can become when we cooperate with God in the Divine Will. Glorious! Fiat!

I have been listening to a few of Fr. Iannuzzi’s archived podcasts from 2018 (the earliest ones listed in the Radio Maria Archive). For a wonderful teaching on the “voids”, please listen to the podcast by Fr. Iannuzzi dated June 9, 2018. Then, in the June 16, 2018 podcast, he gives an important teaching on reparation, especially through meditation on the Hours of the Passion. Both are powerful. Here is a passage from the Volumes that mentions both voids and reparation.

Volume 6, December 22, 1903

He disappeared, but after a little while He came back in the act of His Passion when He was covered with opprobriums, with ignominies, with spit – and I said to Him: ‘Lord, teach me what I could do to move these opprobriums away from You, and give You back honors, praises and adorations.’  And He said to me:  “My daughter, around my throne there is a void, and this void must be filled with the glory that Creation owes Me.  So, one who sees Me despised by the other creatures, and honors Me, not only for herself, but for others, makes honors for Me arise again in this void.  When she sees Me unloved, and loves Me, she makes love for Me arise again.  When she sees that I fill creatures with benefits, while they are not grateful to Me and do not even thank Me, and she is grateful to Me as if those benefits were given to her, and she thanks Me, she makes the flower of gratitude and of thanksgiving arise again for Me in this void; and so with all the rest that Creation owes Me, but denies to Me with awful ingratitude.  Now, since all this is an overflow of the charity of the soul, who gives Me not only what she herself owes Me and what overflows from herself, but she does it for others – since this glory and these flowers that she sends to Me into this void around my throne are the fruit of charity, they receive a more beautiful shade, which is pleasing to Me.” (L. Piccarreta, Book of Heaven, Volume 6, December 22, 1903)

Here is a selection of prayers of reparation that I came across recently. But if you’re short of time, just pray from the heart, e.g., “Father, I’m so sorry this is happening to You! I love you and repair you for all in the name of all. Save souls!”

Twenty-Four Hours of the Passion of Our Lord Jesus Christ

From the Sixth Hour:

Luisa: And now, O my Jesus, let my poor heart draw life from your Heart, that I may live only with your Heart; and in each offense You will receive, let me be ever ready to offer You a relief, a comfort, a reparation, an act of love, never interrupted.

Reflection by St. Anibale di Francia:

My Jesus, in order to compassionate You and relieve You from the total exhaustion in which You find Yourself, I rise up to Heaven and make your own Divinity my own; and placing It around You, I want to move all the offenses of creatures away from You. I want to offer You your Beauty to move the ugliness of sin away from You; your Sanctity to move away the horror of all those souls who make You feel repugnance, because they are dead to grace; your Peace to move the discords, the rebellions and the disturbances of all creatures away from You; your harmonies to relieve your hearing from the waves of many evil voices. My Jesus, I intend to offer You as many divine acts of reparation for as many offenses as assault You, almost wanting to give You death. I intend to give You life with your own acts. Then, O Jesus, I want to throw a wave of your Divinity upon all creatures, so that, at your divine contact, they may no longer dare to offend You. Only in this way, O Jesus, will I be able to offer You compassion for all the offenses which You receive from creatures.

O Jesus, sweet Life of mine, may my prayers and my pains rise always toward Heaven, so as to let the light of grace rain upon all, and absorb your own Life in me.

The Good Left Undone…Redone…

We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, who are called according to his purpose. (Romans 8:28)

Recently in a mea culpa moment, I missed an opportunity to do an act of charity. The person ahead of me in the grocery line was unable to pay for all her groceries and she had to put some back. I could have easily managed it but, I stopped short of offering to pay for the few items she could not afford. St. Paul said it best: I do not do the good I want, but the evil I do not want is what I do (Romans 7:19).

I was still beating myself up over it when I got home. Then I listened to the September 25, 2022 podcast of The Benedictine Daughters of the Divine Will. The topic was—charity! Oh my, it was a dart to my guilty heart. But as the podcast progressed, I could see that the Lord was using my failure to do good, to teach me a higher lesson in the Divine Will.

Mother Gabrielle Marie started her talk by reminding us of what we learn in the writings of Luisa, that our Acts done in the Divine Will, such as breathing, eating, walking, etc., are acts of charity. And they are acts of charity that God uses to reach all souls of all time (including the woman in the checkout line). She also reminded us that if we stop thinking about ourselves and start thinking about God in every situation, charity will come automatically. And then she added this critical piece, that all true charity must be done for love of Jesus. Put another way, if we don’t have the intention to serve Jesus in that person, we may be filling a temporary need for them, but there is no merit in it for us. In the Divine Will, intention is everything. Jesus is everything.

Then later in the talk she added that we can transform the whole world by just sitting in our house doing Acts and Rounds in the Divine Will. Each Act or Round goes around the whole world touching every soul—as much as they are open to it. Jesus does this in us. Our action is to desire. His action is to put that desire in motion. We just need to let Him do!

I did confess my sin at the first opportunity, but mistakes we don’t learn from are tragic mistakes. By pondering my transgression in the Divine Will (rather than dwelling on it in my will) I realized that the root of my mistake was that I was not consciously seeing the Divine Image in that woman – and every other shopper and clerk in the store. As Mother Gabrielle said, if I had done that, true charity would have come automatically, whether I could see its effects or not.

A parallel came to my mind of the scripture story of St. Peter healing the man who had been lame from birth. Peter said to him: I have no silver or gold, but what I have I give you; in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, stand up and walk (Acts 3:6).

I have no silver or gold, meaning I am nothing and have nothing of value to offer. Any love I have is borrowed from the God who is All. What I can give to that dear child of God in the supermarket (after the fact), and all souls of all time, is what the Lord, Jesus Christ himself wants to give them more than anything—that they stand up and walk in the Order of Grace. And so, fusing myself into Jesus, I offer reparation to the Father for the sins of my life and hers, and all souls of all time, re-doing our lives in the Order of Grace, for His glory, our good, and the coming of the Kingdom of the Divine Will.

And that, dear friends, is all things working together for good for those who love God, who are called according to his purpose. Yes, even our (confessed) transgressions. Fiat!

Re-doing our life in the Divine Will

Supreme Majesty, I freely intend, through the Humanity of Jesus, to redo in the Divine Will every moment and act of my existence, from the moment I was conceived to the last act I will do, uniting my newly conceived little humanity to the newly conceived little humanity of Jesus. Taking life in the Will of God the Father, as Jesus took His, I bind all my wailings to His wailings, my every breath to His, and my every thought to His. That same life that Jesus lived for me, how He would have wanted me to live it, I make it my own, to repeat it, act by act, without letting even one of those which He lived escape. I repeat this for all souls of all time, all for the praise and glory of God Our Father, the salvation of souls and the coming of the kingdom of the Divine Will. Amen. Fiat

 Volume 17, May 17, 1925

I fuse myself in the Order of Grace, in all that the SANCTIFIER has done and will do to those who are to be sanctified…I come to give love in return for everything which the SANCTIFIER does to those who are to be sanctified. I come to enter into the Order of Grace, to give glory and return of love, as if all had become Saints, and to repair You for all the opposition and lack of correspondence to Grace…I make my own (Lord Jesus) Your Sorrow, Your secret Moans, Your anguishing Sighs in the depths of the hearts, on seeing Yourself unwelcome. SPIRIT SANCTIFIER, hurry, I implore You, I beg You, let everyone know Your Will, so that, in knowing IT, they may love IT and welcome Your prime Act of their complete sanctification – which is Your Holy Will! (L. Piccarreta, Book of Heaven, Volume 17, May 17, 1925)

From the Twentieth Hour of the Passion:

O Jesus, I thank You for everything, and in the name of all, I raise to You a hymn of eternal and infinite thanksgiving. O my Jesus, I intend to offer You everything You have suffered in your Most Holy Person, to give You all the glory that the creatures would have given You, had they conformed their lives to Yours. []

O my Jesus, I kiss your most holy left hand; I thank You for all that You have suffered for me, for all the times You have placated the Divine Justice, satisfying for everything! I kiss your right hand, and I thank You for all the good You have done, and You do, for all. In a special way, I thank You for the works of Creation, of Redemption and of Sanctification. I ask your forgiveness in the name of all, for all the times we have been ungrateful at your benefits, for our many works done without upright intention. In reparation for all these offenses, I intend to give You all the perfection and sanctity of your works, to give You all the glory that the creatures would have given You, had they corresponded to all of these benefits.

O my Jesus, I kiss your Most Sacred Heart, and I thank You for all You have suffered, desired and yearned for, for love of all and for each one in particular. I ask your forgiveness for the many evil desires, and for the affections and tendencies which are not good – forgiveness, O Jesus, for many who place your love after the love of creatures. And to give You all the glory that these have denied You, I offer You everything that your most adorable Heart has done and continues to do. (L. Piccarreta, The Twenty-Four Hours of the Passion of Our Lord, Jesus Christ)

Dream: The Coach…

I recently had a dream about St. Peter, and not really what you’d expect. It was cute, almost comical, but with a deep message.

The only person I could see in the dream was St. Peter. He appeared as a youngish man with dark hair and a dark beard. I saw him in heaven, looking intently down at us. While watching us, he paced around, bursting with excitement. And what was it about us that captivated him—world events, catastrophes, earthly dramas? Not at all! It was our acts and rounds done in the Divine Will! I understood that what he was so eagerly anticipating was the coming of the Kingdom of the Divine Will.

His excited pacing reminded me of a minor league hockey coach during Game 7, in sudden-death overtime. His heart is on the ice with the kids. He is hyper-alert to every shush of the blade, every movement, breath, and heartbeat. It is the final hour and everything is on the line for the team, that is, Team Luisa. The coach has every confidence that this little team will be victorious. Indeed, they cannot lose, and he cannot wait!

Now St. Peter was the only person I could see in the dream, but he wasn’t the only person in the dream. Jesus was there too; I could feel his Presence. He was monitoring the saint with a good measure of repressed amusement, like an indulgent parent. Referring to the promised Divine Will Era, Jesus said to me: “St. Peter will be the first to cheer when it happens.”

That was the end of the dream. It may have been short, but it left me a great deal to ponder.

First, I had never considered that St. Peter would be so eagerly awaiting the New Era, but it makes perfect sense. He was after all the first pope, a simple fisherman to whom Jesus entrusted the unimaginable responsibility of building, loving, and caring for His Bride, the Church. Tragically, in these end times, the Bride is bleeding badly and dressed in tatters. But now that St. Peter sees Team Luisa trained and in act, he can’t take his eyes off us. Of course he is keenly interested in our acts and rounds, because Jesus has deemed them necessary in bringing about the fulfillment of the Our Father Prayer! Of course St. Peter will be the first to cheer when it happens! It is what he and Jesus have been longing for. At long last the vindication and purification of the Bride is at hand!

Another train of thought emerged after that little dream. I was kind of surprised that St. Peter’s unrepeatable personality was very much in evidence, even in heaven, even in a dream about heaven. It seemed to me that Jesus took great delight in that personality, now perfected in the Divine Will.

We take a lot of things for granted down here, and I had never really meditated on our personalities as an eternally ordained gift from God, nor pondered the delight he takes in that gift of our uniqueness, or that our personality would follow us into heaven. Here on earth, our fallen personalities are often the cause of pain and suffering for God, ourselves, and those around us. But in heaven, perfectly united with the Divine Will, we become our truest, most magnificent, unrepeatable selves, to our eternal joy and God’s glory!

Let us pray

Uncreated Power you have made each one of us unique and unrepeatable. In the Divine Will, I love you and thank you that we are so fearfully and wonderfully made. In particular I want to thank you for the gift of all the unique personalities in all the souls that have ever existed, including my own. I want to repair with your own Divine Will for all the ways our fallen personalities, distorted by sin, have caused pain and sorrow to you, our brothers and sisters, and all creation. I am so sorry, beloved Father, and offer you the reparations of Jesus, Mary, and Luisa, for your Glory and for the coming of the Kingdom of the Divine Will.

I also intend to redo in the Divine Will all the acts Simon Peter did while he was on earth including his glorious martyrdom, as well as all acts of all souls of all time. O Lord, please multiply and magnify this prayer for your glory, for the good of all and for the coming of your kingdom. Fiat!

St. Peter pray for us, the little children of Team Luisa. In the Divine Will, coach us to our guaranteed victory, for the glory of God and the good of all souls! Amen. Fiat!

Seek first the kingdom…

Seek first the kingdom [of God] and his righteousness, and all these things will be given you besides. (Matthew 6:33)

In the passage below from Volume 14, Jesus highlights the contrast between our human way of thinking and praying, and that of living, acting, and praying in the Divine Will. I don’t know about you, but I need such reminders of how infinitely superior Acts and Rounds in the Divine Will are compared to prayers done in the human will.

In this passage Luisa represents us well! Notice how her human will wants to single out a particular soul to pray for, and how Jesus not only reprimands but illuminates her–and us!

Volume 14, March 10, 1922
Universal effects produced by the acts done in the Divine Will. One who lives in the Divine Will is queen of all.

I was doing the Hours of the Passion and, according to my usual way, I was pouring myself into the Holy Will of God, offering them for the good of all; but my will, as though wanting to appropriate them, very often would say: ‘My Jesus, in a special way for help, relief and liberation of this soul…’ And my sweet Jesus, reprimanding me, told me: “My daughter, everything that one does in my Will is like Sun that diffuses to all; and as one prays in my Will, offering my Blood, my pains, my wounds, these convert into as many rays of light which diffuse to all. They descend rapidly into the deepest prison of Purgatory and turn their pains and darkness into light. Therefore, it can be the same for everyone; and if there may be a difference, it can never be on the part of the one who gives, but of those who receive, according to the dispositions of each one. It happens as to the Sun, which gives light to all equally; it hits and warms one point of the earth just as any other. But who profits from this? Those who work. Which land produces fruit? That in which seeds have been sowed. Any other land, in spite of the light of the Sun, remains infertile. Therefore, distinctions do not exist in my Will; by Itself, It runs, It diffuses, and wants to give Itself to all – whoever wants, can take of It.”

I remained afflicted on hearing this, and Jesus added: “Ah! You would like to act like the Sun, if It wanted to concentrate Its light and Its heat in one point more strongly, to be able to warm it and illuminate it so much as to convert that point into the Sun itself; while it continues its regular course over all other things.” And I: ‘Yes, yes, it’s exactly this – it is the weight of gratitude that pushes me to this.’ Jesus smiled in hearing me, and He continued: “If this is the case, then go ahead and do it. But you must know that since my Will dominates everything, is everywhere, sustains everyone, is known in Heaven, on earth and even by demons, there is no one who can oppose It. In the same way, the soul who does my Will must dominate everything, be everywhere, sustain everything, and I want her to be known by all.”

And I: ‘My Love, I am known by no one. And He: “How is it – you are known by no one?! All angels and saints know you – one by one – and they anxiously await your operating in my Will, like a divine note, and the most harmonious one, which flows over everything they have done in life, to give them greater splendor and contentment. All purging souls know you, as they feel over themselves the continuous refreshment that the working in my Will brings. The demons know you from the power of my Will which they feel in you. And if the earth does not know you for now, it will know you later on.

It happens to one who does my Will, and I act with her, just as I did with my Celestial Mama: I constituted Her Queen of all, and I commanded all to recognize Her and honor Her as their Queen; and I commanded Her to crush with Her foot the head of the infernal dragon. So I do with those who live in my Will: everything is under their dominion, and there is no good which does not come from them.” (L. Piccarreta, Book of Heaven, Volume 14, March 10, 1922)

This passage has many layers that need to be masticated well.

We have been given the unimaginable privilege of being called to participate in bringing about the Third Fiat. We know the importance of doing our Acts and Rounds done in the Divine Will. We know they are infinitely more important than prayers for individuals. We know they will have infinitely more effect not only on those individuals we are concerned about, but also on all individuals at the same time. But are we living as if we know it?

The Lord is intimately aware of the deepest desires of our hearts. We don’t have to remind him continuously that so-and-so still hasn’t converted! We must know and believe that he loves that soul far more than we do. Jesus I trust in you. Pray it till you mean it!

The Scripture verse above says it very succinctly: “Seek first the kingdom [of God] and his righteousness, and all these things will be given you besides.”

I once felt the Lord speak this Word to my heart: “You take care of my business and I’ll take care of yours.” His “business” is souls and the Divine Will.  There is nothing he wants more than that the Divine Will reign on earth as it does in heaven. As the first children of the Divine Will, His priority must be our priority.

Friends, we all have individuals we are praying for, but the most important thing we can do for them and for all is to do our Acts and Rounds in the Divine Will faithfully and attentively.

To paraphrase Padre Pio: Do your Acts, do your Rounds, and don’t worry!

Jesus I trust in you. Fiat!

Words…time…food…

What do words, time, and food have in common? We are sadly prone to waste them all.

Pondering the uncommon value of these three common things may spur us to give proper thanks to God for them and pray for the grace to use them in a way that benefits all and properly glorifies the Giver.

Words

I remember reading once that whenever Francis of Assisi saw a paper on the ground with words written on it, he would pick it up and preserve it because the letters on it could be re-arranged to spell God’s name. Oh my! Words today have become a cheap commodity. The term, “paperless society” has become a mockery, and the electronic word has increasingly become a travesty. STOP THE PRESSES!

If you have never seen Greg Dunn’s testimony video I encourage you to do so. I had seen it a few years ago and watching it again has given me more to ponder. More recently Greg said that years ago the Lord told him that our Lord elevates all words, that He fulfills all words because He is the fulfillment…The world uses words shallowly, but wisdom is higher than education.

Reading that gave me pause to examine how I use the written and spoken word, to give more thought to the quality and quantity of the words themselves, to let every word bear its own weight and depth, and to pray for wisdom. After all, our Savior, Jesus, is THE WORD, and He must be in all the words we think, speak, or write, for His glory. For us this is impossible but not for God—Lord, think in my thinking, speak in my speaking, write in my writing…

Sometimes we want to be the ones to “elevate” our own words, thinking if we just say something often enough, or loudly enough, they will have the effect we desire on the poor souls we want to change. There are many words I regret speaking, and many more I regret in the way that I spoke them. But, as Lin Wilder states eloquently in her blog post: People Don’t Change Their Minds, the only thing that can change hearts and souls is Divine Love.

Contrast that to the vitriol that spews onto our devices every day. Friends, in the Divine Will, we are privileged to be called to repair for the misuse or overuse of all words of all time, to redo them in the Divine Will, and to restore them to the Order of Grace. In the Divine Will we can offer Our Lord in reparation his own Words, those of Our Mama, every reading or proclaiming of the words of Scripture and the Volumes, every kind and loving word ever spoken, etc. It is our calling and our duty to do this.

Let us also examine our own use of words and try to use them sparingly and prayerfully, in the aroma of Divine Love. Fiat!

For an excellent teaching on sins of speech by St. Padre Pio see Article 9 of his series of articles on Spiritual Formation, available on EWTN. In this series he is counselling someone who suffers from scrupulosity, but we can all learn from what is taught.

Time

We are out of time, friends, which is 1) good news and, 2) the very best news. First the good news: this era of death is out of time, having written the script of its own demise. It’s going down. The very best news is that those of us in the Divine Will are also out of time, meaning outside of time. We have been given a stunning assignment, dear family, to live outside of time, in the Eternal Now, doing our Acts and Rounds in time for the salvation of the greatest number of souls, past, present, and future, all for the love and glory of God. From Volume 11:

“My daughter, only the souls who live in my Will can give Me true reparations and soothe Me from thorns so sharp. In fact, since they live in my Will, and since my Will is everywhere, they find themselves in Me and in everyone; they descend into the creatures and rise up to Me; they bring Me all the reparations; they soothe Me. And in the sick minds they turn darkness into light.” (L. Piccarreta, Book of Heaven, Volume 11, April 24, 1915)

It is so humbling to think of this. In the Divine Will, our Merciful Father allows us to participate in his every act and have him participate in ours and to repair, redo, and restore our days, our lives, and even others’ days and lives in the Divine Will. He knows what we are made of—dust. Yet he calls us to this glorious participation in His Will. (To clarify, when we repair, redo, and restore, we do not take away the free choices that we or others have made or will make, but they do receive extra graces, extra lights for their ultimate good in God’s Holy Will.) As well, through our Acts and Rounds, we are given the unimaginable privilege of giving God the gratitude and glory he has deserved in every nanosecond of time from the beginning of creation to the end of time—even before humans existed as we are the voice of all creation. Fiat! Glory!

So let’s keep that in mind and try to be as prudent with our time as we can be. We all need leisure but we don’t need to spend copious amounts of time poring over news and opinions that only serve to disturb our peace. In his video Greg Dunne has a charming way of saying that we have nothing to fear, that God is completely in control. Do watch his video linked above.

In the Divine Will, our Acts and Rounds have effects in the world we can’t comprehend. When I get sucked into the “low world” as Jesus calls it, I often come back to this passage:

Volume 13, January 11, 1922
The souls who live in the Divine Will will be for the Body of the Church like skin to the body, and will bring to all of Its members the circulation of Life.

Finding myself in my usual state, I was thinking about the Holy Divine Will, and I said to myself: ‘All the children of the Church are members of the Mystical Body, of which Jesus is the Head. What place will the souls who do the Will of God occupy in this Mystical Body?’ And Jesus, always benign, on coming, told me: “My daughter, the Church is my Mystical Body, of which I glory in being the Head. But in order to enter this Mystical Body, the members must grow to a proper stature, otherwise they would deform my Body. But, alas! – how many not only do not have the due proportion, but are rotten, wounded, so much as to be disgusting to my Head and to the other healthy members. Now, the souls who live, or will live in my Will will be for the Body of my Church like skin to the body. The body has internal skin and external skin, and because in the skin there is the blood circulation which gives life to the whole body, it is by virtue of this circulation that the members reach the proper stature. If it wasn’t for the skin and for the blood circulation, the human body would be horrible to the sight, and its members would not grow to the due proportion.

Now, see how these souls who live in my Will are necessary to Me. Since I have destined them to be like skin to the body of my Church, and like circulation of life for all the members, they will be the ones who will give the proper growth to the members which have not grown; who will heal the wounded members, and who will restore the freshness, the beauty, the splendor of the whole Mystical Body by their continuous living in my Will, rendering it fully similar to my Head, which will sit in full majesty upon all those members. This is why the end of days cannot come if I do not have these souls who live as though dissolved in my Will – they interest Me more than anything. What impression would this Mystical Body make in the Celestial Jerusalem without them? And if this is what interests Me more than anything, it must interest you also more than anything, if you love Me. From now on, I will give to your acts done in my Will the virtue of circulation of Life for the whole Mystical Body of the Church. Just like the blood circulation in the human body, your acts, extended within the immensity of my Will, will extend over all and will cover these members like skin, giving them proper growth. Therefore, be attentive and faithful.”

Then, afterwards, I was praying, all abandoned in the Will of Jesus, and almost without thinking, I said: ‘My Love – everything in your Will: my little pains, my prayers, my heartbeat, my breathing – all I am and all I can, united to all that You are, so as to give proper growth to the members of the Mystical Body.” In hearing me, Jesus made Himself seen again, and smiling with satisfaction, added: “How beautiful it is to see my truths in your heart as fount of Life immediately having the development and the effect for which they have communicated themselves! Therefore, correspond with Me, and as soon as I see one truth developed, I will make it an honor for Myself to make another fount of truth arise.” (L. Piccarreta, Book of Heaven, Volume 13, January 11, 1922)

Yes, let’s bring this to mind often. Our calling to live in the Divine will is far beyond what we can ask or imagine.

For most of my life food was the guest of honor at every emotional banquet I hosted. It was my idol—thoughts of breakfast are what got me out of bed in the morning. It has taken years of prayer and the sacraments to smash that idol. The Lord has been very patient and resourceful!

Once, in prayer as an adult, I asked for the gift of temperance. Immediately I heard these words in my head, “I gave you that gift at your Confirmation.” Then he added wryly, “You haven’t opened it yet.” Mea maxima culpa!

The Lord chides with an embrace—he did not leave me orphaned. For my part I was hoping to become miraculously temperate in eating, but no, he called me to be a penitent, which gave me a rule of life, including structured prayer and regular fasting and abstinence. Seriously? I would have voted myself “least likely to succeed”, but I gave the Lord my fiat and entered formation in the Brothers and Sisters of Penance of St. Francis in 2002.

It was a bumpy road but by God’s grace, I persisted and professed to live the Rule for life in 2007. God is SO patient! And inventive! A few years later he brought out the big guns—food intolerances and digestive issues. All my favorite foods went out the window. To paraphrase scripture: If peanut butter causes you to sin…throw it out! What really surprised me was how I reached a point where the more he took away, the less I minded, and the freer I felt.

God be praised, that idol is now dust in the landfill!

Greg Dunne shared in one of his talks that the Lord has told him to eat only for sustenance and nutrition. This might seem a very severe penance, but think of how much reparation we owe to Our Lord for the ways we in western society have idolized food, and the ways we have wasted it while most of the world has gone hungry.

I’m not saying everyone should eat that way, but we should certainly ask God what he wants us to do. We owe him that much. We may have a bigger problem that needs abundant grace, or he may be only asking something small of us. Remember that intention is everything. St. Louis Marie de Montfort said, “If but a pin is given in homage, and given with a good heart, it will be enough for Jesus, who loves only the good will.”

That is especially true in the Divine Will. We can even give him “his own things” as Luisa said, for “the poor must receive from the rich”. Something small can be elevated to the infinite by fusing it with Our Lord’s own fasting in the desert, with Our Mama’s fastings, with Luisa’s long and continuous fasting. So we give Jesus our few loaves with a couple of fish and he will feed an infinitude of souls.

Through our Acts done in the Divine Will, the common gifts of words, time, and food are elevated beyond imagining, to reach their intended uncommon value, for the good of all and the Glory of God.

I have saved the best for last dear friends. Please do yourself the favor of listening to the cenacle recording featuring Mother Gabrielle Marie and The Benedictine Daughters of the Divine Will on The Feast of Pentecost 2022. The sisters give us some very beautiful teachings on our Acts in the Divine Will, among other inspiring teachings. I love these ladies! (Note: This is a two-part video, and be aware that there are audio difficulties in the middle of Part 2, but they only last a few minutes. Don’t disconnect!)

Enlightenment, Edification, and Encouragement…

Friends, I just listened to Fr. Iannuzzi’s April 23 podcast on Radio Maria. Wow! There is so much in there to edify and encourage us! If you haven’t listened to it yet, please make time!

The following two passages from the Volumes are also enlightening and encouraging.

Volume 5, June 6, 1903
Jesus teaches her how she must behave in the state of abandonment and of sufferings
.

After going through bitter days of privations and of sufferings, this morning I found myself outside of myself with Baby Jesus in my arms. As soon as I saw Him, I said: ‘Ah, dear Jesus, how could You leave me alone? At least teach me how I must behave in this state of abandonment and of sufferings.’ And He: “My daughter, offer everything you suffer in your arms, in your legs and in your heart together with the sufferings of my members by reciting five Glory Be’s; and offer it to divine Justice to satisfy for the works, the steps and the bad desires of the hearts which creatures commit continuously. Unite it, then, to my sufferings caused by the thorns and to those of my shoulders, with the recitation of three Glory Be’s, and offer it for the satisfaction of the three powers of man, which are so disfigured that I can no longer recognize my image in them; and try to keep your will always united to Me and in continuous attitude of loving Me. Let your memory be the bell that rings continuously within you, and reminds you of what I have done and suffered for you, and of how many graces I have given to your soul, so as to thank Me and be grateful to Me, since gratitude is the key that opens the divine treasures. Let your intellect think of nothing, and occupy itself with nothing but God. If you do this, I will find again my image in you, and I will take the satisfaction which I cannot receive from the other creatures. And you must do this continuously, because if the offense is continuous, continuous must be the satisfaction.” (L. Piccarreta, Book of Heaven, Volume 5, June 6, 1903)

I will go out on a limb and say it is difficult for us to do this continually, but for God all things are possible. As he tells us through Luisa, if we form the intention to do so, HE will do it in us. Never forget that in the Divine Will we can take for our own whatever Luisa did, and give it to the Father in reparation, asking him to multiply it an infinitude of times. For that matter we can take Jesus’ own acts and Blessed Mother’s too and do the same. We do our best and God does the rest. Fiat!

God is sparing no grace at this time, as we see again in this next passage from Volume 19, which Frances Hogan discusses in her Talk #9 on that volume. Again, there is so much in this passage! Volume 19 is amazing (aren’t they all?) and the talks Frances gives on this volume are enlightening as usual.

Volume 19, May 23, 1926
The Divine Will is seed of life, and wherever It enters, It produces life and sanctity. Just as the Virgin had Her time, the one who must impetrate the Supreme FIAT also has her time.

I was accompanying my sweet Jesus in His sorrowful agony in the Garden, especially when all the weight of our sins unloaded itself upon His Most Holy Humanity, to the point of making Him shed living blood. Oh! how I would have wanted to relieve Him from pains so excruciating. And while I compassionated His whole Being, He told me: “My daughter, my Will has the power to give death and to give life; and since my Humanity knew no other life but the Life of my Divine Will, as the sins crowded over Me, my Will made Me feel a distinct death for each sin. My Humanity moaned under the pain of the real death which my Supreme Will gave Me; but over that very death which this Divine Will gave Me, It made the new life of grace rise again for creatures. So, as evil and bad as a creature might be, if she has the fortune of letting one act of my Will enter into herself, even at the point of death, since my Will is life, It sows the seed of life in the soul. And as she possesses this seed of life, there is great hope that the soul may be saved, because the power of my Will will be careful so that this act of life of Its own, which has entered the soul, may not perish and turn into death. In fact, my Will has the power to give death, but my Will Itself and all of Its acts are untouchable and not subject to any death. Now, if one act alone of my Will contains the seed of life, what will not be the fortune of one who embraces within her soul, not one act alone, but continuous acts of my Will? This creature receives, not just the seed, but the fullness of life, and places her sanctity in safety.”

Then, afterwards, my poor mind was wandering in the Holy Divine Will, doing my usual acts in It. It seemed to me that everything was mine, and as I went around through all created things to impress everywhere my ‘I love You’, my adoration, my ‘Glory to my Creator’, I acquired new knowledge of what God has done for the creature, and of how much He has loved us. The Supreme Will seemed to delight in making known the new surprises of Its love, so that I might follow Its acts in order for It to give me the right to possess what has come out of Its creative Will. My littleness wandered amid Its immense goods. In the meantime, my sweet Jesus came out from within my interior, and told me: “My daughter, when my Queen Mama came out to the light of the day, everyone was turned toward Her, and as though having one single gaze, all pupils looked at She who was to dry their tears by bringing to them the Life of the longed for Redeemer. All Creation was centered in Her, feeling honored to obey Her wishes. The Divinity Itself was all for Her and all intent on Her, in order to prepare Her and to form in Her, with surprising graces, the space into which the Eternal Word was to descend to take on human flesh. If the virtue were not present within Us that, while We operate, deal with or speak with one creature, We do not neglect the others, all would have said to Us: ‘Leave all of us aside, think of this Virgin; give – centralize everything in Her, that She may let the One come in whom our hopes, our life, all of our good, are placed.’ Therefore, the time in which the Sovereign Queen came out to the light of the day can be called the time of my Mama.

This, my daughter [Luisa], can be called your time. All are turned toward you; I hear the voice of all, as if it were one alone, praying Me, pressing Me, that my Will may reacquire Its absolute divine rights over you, so that, acquiring Its total dominion, It may pour into you all the fullness of goods It had established to give if the creature had not withdrawn from my Will. So, the whole of Heaven, the Celestial Mama, the Angels and Saints – all are turned toward you for the triumph of my Will, because their glory in Heaven will not be complete if my Will does not have Its complete triumph on earth. Everything was created for the total fulfillment of the Supreme Will, and until Heaven and earth return into this circle of the Eternal Volition, they feel their works, their glory and beatitude as though halved, because, not having found Its complete fulfillment in the Creation, the Divine Will cannot give what It had established to give – that is, the fullness of Its goods, of Its effects, joys and happinesses which It contains. This is why they are all longing; my Will Itself is all for you [Luisa] and intent on you [Luisa]; It holds nothing back of graces, of light and whatever it takes to form in you the greatest of prodigies, which is Its fulfillment and Its total triumph. Which one do you think is a greater prodigy: that a little light remains enclosed in the sun, or that the sun remains enclosed in the little light?”

And I: ‘It would certainly be more prodigious if the little light enclosed the sun; and indeed, it seems impossible to me that this may happen.’ And Jesus: “What is impossible for the creature is possible for God. The little light is the soul, and my Will is the sun. Now, my Will must give so much to the little light as to be able to make of it a circle and be enclosed in It. And since the nature of light is to spread its rays everywhere, while remaining in triumph within this circle, It will spread Its divine rays to give the Life of my Will to all. This is the prodigy of prodigies, which the whole of Heaven longs for. Therefore, give broad field to my Will – be opposed in nothing, so that what was established by God in the work of Creation may have its fulfillment.” (L. Piccarreta, Book of Heaven, Volume 19, May 23, 1926)

In this passage we can really see God’s fervent, Holy Desire for the fulfillment of the Fiat of Sanctification, and we can begin to appreciate all he has put into place to get us to this point and beyond. The passage immediately before this one, from May 18, 1926 is also very important. However it was a bit long to post here.

I had a few other passages flagged to share with you but I think I will share the source instead. You may have already seen the “Round Booklets” (downloadable from the Queen of the Divine Will Resource Library – scroll down). There is a booklet for each liturgical season with a couple of extras. Each booklet consists of rounds in the Divine Will written in the style of the Liturgy of the Hours (but are not meant to replace the LoH).

The round prayers themselves are very beautiful but it is the excerpts from the volumes that I often feel the need to share here. They seem to have been cherry-picked for inclusion in these booklets to stress essential teachings.

To be honest, I find that to pray the rounds as written in the booklets, is more than I have time for in the day with my other prayers and duties. However, I do try to pray at least a part of them every day. Fr. Iannuzzi, in the podcast I linked to at the top of the page, speaks to this problem we have of fitting everything into our day. God be praised for giving us the practical guidance we need through Fr. Iannuzzi and others, in order not to become overwhelmed or discouraged. Fiat!

God bless you dear friends. He is near. Come Divine Will! Fiat!

Some very relevant podcasts on the Divine Will…

Blessings dear friends. Here are some more podcasts that I found enormously helpful and edifying.

Frances Hogan’s Volume 19 – Talk #17. Don’t miss this this talk. It is full of the beauty, majesty, and power of this Gift and illustrates God’s burning desire to make it known and put into practice. You may have to download the talk to get it to play. Talk #16 is very good too.

Fr. Iannuzzi’s July 18, 2020 podcast on Radio Maria has a very strong message regarding the times we are in, the action of the Divine Will in it, and our role in God’s plan.

Dear friends, God’s power is in no way diminished in our times. His plan is proceeding and his victory is assured. Let us try to increase our acts and rounds in the Divine Will to hasten the coming of the kingdom, and to work with him to increase the number of the souls who will be saved. Fiat!

Fighting the battle “up high”…

I lift up my eyes to the hills—
from where will my help come?
My help comes from the Lord,
   who made heaven and earth.

(Psalm 121:1-2)

Friends, Pope Francis has called everyone in the world, not just Catholics, to a day of prayer and fasting for Peace on March 2, Ash Wednesday. The pope invoked the Queen of Peace to “preserve the world from the madness of war.” Fiat!

Our Divine Will group is praying the Twenty-Four Hours of the Passion that day. If you don’t have a group, why not put numbers 1-24 in a “hat” and pull out a number or two to let God decide which hours He wants you to cover? If enough people do that I am certain the Lord will make sure the Hours are filled.

We know that true peace, the peace that will last, is only possible through the conversion of heart, which requires sacrifice. God will provide the graces, but He wants our skin in the game. There is no doubt that most of our sacrifices fall short in some way. We fight them, we complain, we procrastinate. That is OUR will. But when we offer our sacrifices in the Divine Will we fuse our drop of water into the chalice of His Blood. As we allow him to suffer in our sufferings we can give Him, as our own possession, His own sufferings as well as those of Our Lady and Luisa. If we do that, the enemy will find no place or time in which to hide. Fiat!

Our Lord tells Luisa about the value and effects of sacrifice:

Volume 14, August 12, 1922

You must know that my Will is most pure gold. And so that the thread of your will may become of most pure gold – in such a way that, as the thread of your will is braided with Mine, that which is yours and that which is Mine may not be distinguished – it takes only sacrifice and pains. Consuming the thread of your human will, they substitute it with the golden divine thread which, identifying itself with mine, forms one single thread, and braiding the great wheel of Eternity, extends everywhere and finds itself in every place.

But if my Will is gold and yours is iron, you will remain behind, and Mine will not lower Itself to be braided with yours. If you take two objects of gold, though each one may have its own different shape, by melting them, you will be able to form one single object, and would no longer be able to discern the gold of one from that of the other. But if one object is of gold and the other of iron, one will not stick to the other, and it will be impossible to form one single object. So, only sacrifice changes the nature of the human will.

Sacrifice is the burning fire that melts and consumes. Sacrifice is sacred, and has the virtue of consecrating the Divine Will in the human. Sacrifice is grace, and with its skillful brush it impresses the divine shape and features. Here is the reason for the increasing of your sufferings: these are the final brush strokes which are needed in order to produce the final extension and braiding of your will in Mine.” (L. Piccarreta, Book of Heaven, Volume 14, August 12, 1922)

(See Frances Hogan’s Volume 14, talk #8.)

This must be re-read: “Only sacrifice changes the nature of the human will.” We will not have peace until the Divine Will reigns. There is much to come, but our acts, rounds, and our sacrifices in the Divine Will are the weapons God wants us to use right now. And here’s why:

VOLUME 17, May 4, 1925

Therefore, be attentive, because this is about rescuing that Eternal Will which, with so much love, wants to dwell in the creatures. But It wants to be known, It does not want to be like a stranger; rather, It wants to give out Its goods and become Life of each one, but It wants Its rights whole – Its place of honor. It wants the human will to be banished – the only enemy for It, and for man.

The mission of my Will was the purpose of the creation of man. My Divinity did not depart from Heaven, from Its throne; my Will, instead, not only departed but descended into all created things and formed Its Life in them. However, while all things recognized Me, and I dwell in them with majesty and decorum, man alone drove Me away. But I want to conquer him and win him, and this is why my mission is not finished. So I called you, entrusting to you my own mission, that you may place the one who drove Me away on the lap of my Will, and everything may return to Me, in my Will.

Therefore, do not be surprised at the great and marvelous things I may tell you for the sake of this mission, or at the many graces I may give you; because this is not about making a saint, but about saving the generations. This is about rescuing a Divine Will, for which everything must return to the beginning, to the origin from which everything came, so that the purpose of my Will may have its complete fulfillment.’” (L. Piccarreta, Book of Heaven,

Let the following passages dispel any fear.

Volume 6, March 4, 1904
The soul must live up high.  One who lives up high cannot be harmed.

As I was very afflicted and in suffering because of the loss of my good Jesus, I saw Him for just a little, and He told me: “My daughter, your soul must try to maintain the flight of an eagle – that is, to dwell up high, above all the low things of this earth; and so high that no enemy may harm it.  In fact, one who lives up high can harm the enemies, but cannot be harmed.  And she must not only live up high, but must try to have purity and sharpness of eye, similar to those of an eagle.  Though living up high, through the sharpness of her sight, she penetrates the divine things – not in passing, but by chewing them to the point of making of them her favorite food, despising any other thing.  And she also penetrates the necessities of her neighbor, nor is she afraid to descend into their midst and do good to them; and if needed, she lays down her life.  Through the purity of her sight, she makes the love of God and the love of neighbor from two to one, rectifying everything for God.  So must the soul be if she wants to please Me.” (L. Piccarreta, Book of Heaven, Volume 6, March 4, 1904)

This is best understood in a spiritual sense since our true enemies are spiritual and the root of all evil. Those who try to harm us down here are mere pawns. However, the battles we fight from “up high” have their effect in all times and places below, including our own. We take up the fight up high out of a love of God and neighbor. Jesus encourages us through Luisa to use His own things as our invincible weapons of war, but we must be firm in virtue, with “purity and sharpness of eye”, seeing all as God sees it. In the next passages, we find a few pearls of inestimable price that we can offer to God as our own things.

Volume 17, July   1, 1924

How beautiful and touching it was to hear Jesus pray! And since I was accompanying Him in the sorrowful mystery of the Scourging, He made Himself seen pouring out Blood, and I heard Him say: “My Father, I offer You this Blood of Mine. O please, let It cover all the intelligences of creatures, rendering vain all their evil thoughts, dimming the fire of their passions, and making holy intelligences rise again. May this Blood cover their eyes and be a veil to their sight, so that the taste of evil pleasures may not enter them through their eyes, and they may not get dirty with the mud of the earth. May this Blood of Mine cover and fill their mouths, and render their lips dead to blasphemies, to imprecations, to all of their bad words. My Father, may this Blood of Mine cover their hands, and strike terror in man for so many evil actions. May this Blood circulate in Our Eternal Will in order to cover all, to defend all, and to be a defending weapon for the creature before the rights of Our Justice. (L. Piccarreta, Book of Heaven, Volume 17, July   1, 1924)

Volume 11 June 15, 1916

“The most powerful prayers over the Heart of my Son, and those which move Him the most, are for the creature to clothe herself with everything He Himself did and suffered, since He gave everything as gift to the creature.

Therefore, my daughter, surround your head with the thorns of Jesus, bead your eyes with His tears, impregnate your tongue with His bitterness, clothe your soul with His Blood, adorn yourself with His wounds, pierce your hands and feet with His nails, and like another Christ present yourself before His Divine Majesty.

This sight will move Him in such a way that He will not be able to deny anything to the soul who is clothed with His own insignia.  But – oh, how little do creatures know how to make use of the gifts which my Son gave them!  These were my prayers upon earth, and these are my prayers in Heaven.” (L. Piccarreta, Book of Heaven, Volume 11 – June 15, 1916)

Prayer from the passage:

Fused into you, O my Jesus, with the Blessed Mother and Luisa, I surround my head with Your thorns, bead my eyes with Your tears, impregnate my tongue with Your bitterness, clothe my soul with Your Blood, adorn myself with Your wounds, pierce my hands and feet with Your nails, and like another Christ present myself before Your Divine Majesty.

Volume 16, December 29, 1923

My daughter, the living in my Will is exactly this: to bring the whole of Creation before Me, and in the name of all, give Me the return of their duties. No one must escape you, otherwise my Will would find voids in Creation, and would not be satisfied. But do you know why you do not find all, and many escape you? It is the power of free will. However, I want to teach you a secret – where to find them all: enter into my Humanity and you will find all of their acts as though held in custody; for these I took on the commitment to satisfy before my Celestial Father on their behalf. Go and follow all my acts, which were the acts of all; in this way you will find everything, and you will give Me return of love for everyone and for everything. Everything is in Me; since I did everything for all, in Me is the deposit of all; I render to the Divine Father the duty of love for all, and whoever wants it, can use it as way and means to ascend to Heaven.”

I entered into Jesus, and I easily found everything and everyone. And following the works of Jesus, I said: ‘I love you in every thought of creature; I love You in the flight of every gaze; I love You in the sound of every word; I love You in every heartbeat, breath and affection; I love You in every drop of blood, in every work and step,…’ (L. Piccarreta, Book of Heaven, Volume 16, December 29, 1923)

So let us maintain our focus on fighting the battle up high. We were born for these times. Let’s remain focused and “let God do” in us. Fiat!

The Critical Importance of the Rounds…

Dear friends, we cannot overstate the importance of the rounds, both in this Era and in the imminent New Era, as we see in the passages below. With this in mind it is critical that we identify and eliminate any distractions from what God has called us to through the teachings of Luisa. These distractions may even be good things, ministries, spiritualities, holy books, prayers, novenas. Frances Hogan often says, “The enemy of the best is the better,” meaning that the time you give to the good or better things is time you take away from the best thing. The Divine Will is the Highest Good. There can be nothing higher because the Divine Will is the Trinity Itself.

Before Lent it would be a good exercise to examine what we give our time to (not counting the duties of our state in life which are ordained by God), and make a concerted effort to jettison the excess cargo. Of course, nature hates a vacuum almost as much as the evil one loves one, so we must make a plan to use the time saved to read, study, and put into practice the teachings of Luisa.

An interesting thought came to me recently, to try for a day or two living life as if I don’t have access to the thousands of opinions that are literally at my fingertips. I can only live where I am and listen to the voices of those I can actually talk to in person. I won’t know what this other bishop or that Catholic blogger said. Best of all, I won’t have to have opinions on thousands of subjects, only those that affect my proximate sphere of influence. I feel more peaceful just thinking about it. After all, that’s how humans lived for millennia. It might be a good exercise for Lent, even in a modified form. Something to ponder.

When we live in the Divine Will, giving God an empty field to work in, even the littlest things we do generate the “suns” that influence the past, present, and future. Friends, this invitation we have received to accept the Gift of Living in the Divine Will is beyond stunning, an unimaginable privilege we have not deserved in any way. God looked for the littlest and the least, and he came up with us. So, the most important, the most effective use of our time is to enter into our nothingness, put into practice the writings of Luisa, and “let God do” the rest. Fiat!

Servant of God, Little Luisa, pray for us.

Volume 19, June 29, 1926

Jesus to Luisa: “My little daughter, let us go around throughout the whole Creation in which the Supreme Will contains Its Life, does Its distinct act in each created thing and, triumphant of Itself, magnifies and glorifies all of Its supreme qualities in a perfect way.  If you look at the sky, your eye cannot see its boundaries – wherever it looks there is sky, nor can you tell where it ends or where it begins.  This is the image of Our Supreme Being, which has no beginning and no end; and in the azure sky Our Will praises and glorifies Our Eternal Being which has no beginning and no end.  This sky, studded with stars, is the image of Our Being:  just as the sky is one, so is the Divinity one single act.  But in the multiplicity of the stars, Our works ad extra which descend from this single act, and the effects and the works of this single act, are innumerable; and in the stars Our Will magnifies and glorifies the effects and the multiplicity of Our works, which include the Angels, man and all created things.

See how beautiful it is to live in my Will, in the unity of this supreme light, and to be aware of the meaning of all created things, and to praise, magnify, glorify the Supreme Creator with His very Will in all of Our images which each created thing contains.  But, move on to look at the sun.  Under the vault of the heavens one can see a limited circumference of light which contains light and heat, and descending down below, invests all the earth.  This is the image of the light and love of the Supreme Maker, who loves everyone and does good to all.  From the height of His Majesty He descends down below, deep into the hearts, even into hell, but He does it quietly, without clamor, wherever He is.  Oh! how Our Will glorifies and magnifies Our eternal light, Our inextinguishable love and Our all-seeingness.  Our Will murmurs in the sea; and in the immensity of the waters which hide innumerable fishes of every species and color, It glorifies Our immensity that envelopes everything and holds all things as though in the palm of Its hand.  Our Will glorifies the image of Our immutability in the firmness of the mountains; the image of Our justice in the roaring of the thunder and in the bolt of lightning; the image of Our joy in the little bird that sings, trills and warbles; the image of Our moaning love in the turtledove that moans; the image of the continuous call that We make to man in the lamb that bleats, saying in each bleating:  ‘Me, Me, come to Me, come to Me…’; and Our Will glorifies Us in the continuous call We make to the creature.  All created things have a symbol of Ours, an image of Ours; and Our Will has the commitment to magnify Us and glorify Us in all Our works, because, since the work of Creation is work of the Supreme Fiat, it was befitting for It to preserve Our glory, whole and permanent, in all created things.

Now, Our Supreme Will wants to give this commitment as inheritance to one who must live in the unity of Its light, because It would not be befitting to live in Its light and not identify with the acts of the Supreme Fiat.  Therefore, my little daughter, all created things as well as my Will await you in each created thing, to repeat Its very acts, to glorify and magnify your Creator with the very Divine Will.” (L. Piccarreta, Book of Heaven, Volume 19, June 29, 1926)

Volume 20, November 1, 1926

I was doing my usual round in the whole Creation, to be able to love and glorify as the Divine Fiat Itself loves and glorifies, in all created things.  But while I was doing this, I thought to myself:  ‘My sweet Jesus makes me go around through the whole Creation, almost to reach His Will in all of Its acts, to keep It company, to give to It my “I love You”, my “Thank You”, my “I adore You”, and to ask that Its Kingdom may come soon.  But I do not know all that this Divine Will does in each created thing – I would like to know It, so that my act may be one with Its own.’

Now, while I was thinking of this, my always lovable Jesus, all goodness, came out from within my interior and told me:  “It is right that the little daughter of my Will know what the One from whom her origin came, does.  You must know that my Eternal Fiat not only fills the whole Creation and is life of each created thing, but It keeps all of Our qualities spread out throughout the whole Creation.  In fact, Creation was to serve as terrestrial Paradise for the human family, and therefore It was to be the echo of the beatitudes and happinesses of Heaven.  If It did not contain the joys and the contentments of the Celestial Fatherland, how could It form the happiness of the terrestrial fatherland?  More so, since one was the Will – That which beatified Heaven, as well as That which was to make the earth happy.  Now, if you want to know what my Will does in the heavens – in that blue which can be seen always firm and stretched out over the heads of all, there is no point in which heavens cannot be seen; both at night and at daytime they remain always at their place.  So, Our Will keeps Our Eternity, Our Firmness that never changes, spread out in them.  It remains always in Its perfect balance, nor does It ever change for any circumstance; and while It loves and glorifies Our Eternity – Our unshakeable Being, It makes the earth happy and says to man:  ‘Look – take the heavens as model, which are always extended above your head.  Be always firm in good, just as I am.  From here, I am always stretched out to protect you, so that you too, like a second heaven populated with stars… – which to your eyes seem to be so bound to the heavens that one could say that the stars are daughters of the heavens – …so that you too will be firm in good, and the heaven of your soul will be populated with stars, like many births and daughters of yours.’

So, in doing your round in the Creation, when you arrive at the heavens, you too, united with Our Will, love and glorify Our eternity, Our unshakeable Being that never changes, and pray that It may render the creatures firm in good, that they may be the reflection of the heavens, and may enjoy the happiness brought by a good which is continuous and never interrupted.

Then, continuing your round in the space of Creation, you will arrive at the sun, a sphere which is closer to the earth than the heavens, in order to bring to the creatures the fount of terrestrial happiness, the similes of the beatitudes, and the flavors of the happiness of the Celestial Fatherland.  Do you want to know, then, what my Will does in the sun?  It glorifies Our interminable light, Our innumerable flavors.  It loves and glorifies Our infinite sweetnesses, the indescribable shades of Our beauties; and with its heat, It echoes Our immense Love.

Oh! how the sun sings Our praises; how it loves and glorifies Our Divine Being.  Just as Our Divinity, unveiled, beatifies the whole Celestial Fatherland with ever new acts, in the same way, the sun, faithful echo of its Creator, celestial bearer of the Supreme Majesty, veiled by its light in which my Will dominates and reigns, brings terrestrial happiness to the earth.  It brings its light and its heat; it brings sweetness and almost innumerable flavors to plants, to herbs, to fruits; it brings warmth and fragrance to the flowers, and so many different shades of beauty, as to delight and embellish all nature.  Oh! how the sun – or rather, my Will in the sun – through plants, fruits and flowers, offers true terrestrial happiness to the human generations.  And if they do not enjoy it fully, it is because they have moved away from that Will which reigns in the sun; and the human will, placing itself against the Divine, breaks Its happiness.  My Will, veiled in the light of the sun, while loving and singing the praises of Our divine qualities, from the height of its sphere says to man:  ‘In everything you do, be always light, just as I am, so that the light may convert you completely into heat, and you may become as one single flame of love for your Creator.  Look at me:  by always being light and heat, I possess sweetness; so much so, that I communicate it to the plants, and from the plants to you.  If you will always be light and heat, you too will possess the divine sweetness.  You will have no more bile or anger in your soul; you will possess the flavors and the different shades of the beauties of the Supreme Being.  You will be sun like me; more so, since God has made me for you, and you were made for Him, therefore it is right that you be more sun than I.’

See, my daughter, how many things you have to do united with my Will in that sphere of the sun.  You must sing the praises, love and glorify Our light, Our love, Our infinite sweetnesses, Our innumerable flavors, Our incomprehensible beauty.  You must impetrate for the creatures all the divine qualities that the sun contains, so that in finding the divine qualities within their midst, my Will may come to reign unveiled, with Its full triumph, in the midst of the human generations.

And now, my daughter, let us descend into the lower part of the earth; let us go into the sea, in which immense masses of crystal clear waters are piled up – symbol of divine purity.  These waters are always walking – they never stop.  They have no voice, yet they murmur; they are without life, yet so strong as to form waves so high, that they overwhelm and shatter ships, peoples and things, to then descend into their shore.  And after they have knocked down the things which they invested, peacefully, as if they had done nothing, they continue their usual murmuring.

Oh! how my Will in the sea sings the praises, loves and glorifies Our Power, Our strength, Our eternal motion that never stops!  And if Our Justice forms its just roaring waves, such as to knock down cities and peoples, like peaceful sea after the storm, Our peace is never disturbed, and my Will, veiled by the waters of the sea, says to man:  ‘Be pure like these crystal clear waters.  But if you want to be pure, walk always toward Heaven, otherwise you would putrefy, just as these waters, so pure, would become putrid if they did not always flow.  Let the murmuring of your prayer be continuous, if you want to be strong and powerful like me – if you want to knock down the strongest enemies as well as your rebellious will, which prevents Me from unveiling Myself and going out of this sea to come to reign in you and extend in you the peaceful sea of my grace.  How could you possibly want to remain below this sea that glorifies Me so much?’

You too, sing the praises, love and glorify Our Purity, Our Power, Strength and Justice, united to my Will which awaits you in the sea as Its own daughter; Our eternal motion toward the creatures in order to do good to them, and the continuous murmuring of Our Love through the created things, which, while murmuring love, wants the continuous return of the murmuring of the continuous love of the creatures.  Pray that my Will may give them the divine qualities It exercises in the sea, so that It may come and reign in the midst of those who now keep It rejected in the whole Creation.

Therefore, if you want to know what my Will does in all Creation, go around in It, and my Fiat, finding Its daughter in all created things, will unveil Itself and will tell you what It does toward the Divine Majesty, and the call and the lessons It wants to give to the creatures.” Now, Our Supreme Will wants to give this commitment as inheritance to one who must live in the unity of Its light, because It would not be befitting to live in Its light and not identify with the acts of the Supreme Fiat.  Therefore, my little daughter, all created things as well as my Will await you in each created thing, to repeat Its very acts, to glorify and magnify your Creator with the very Divine Will.” (L. In the Era of the living in the Divine Will, the souls will complete the Glory of God on the part of Creation.

Continuing in my usual state, my little mind was wandering in the Holy Will of God and, I don’t know how, I understood how the creature does not give to God the glory which she is obliged to give; and I felt embittered. And my sweet Jesus, wanting to instruct me and console me, through an intellectual light told me: “My daughter, all of my works are complete; therefore, the glory that the creature must give to Me will be complete. The last day will not come until the whole Creation has given Me the honor and the glory which I Myself wanted and established, and what some do not give Me, I take from others; in these I redouble the graces which others reject from Me, and from these I receive double love and glory. To others, according to their dispositions, I reach the point of giving the graces which I would give to ten; to others, those which I would give to a hundred; to others, those which I would give to a thousand. Sometimes, I give the graces which I would give to cities, to provinces, and even to entire kingdoms. And these love Me and give Me glory for ten, for a hundred, for a thousand, etc. In this way my Glory on the part of Creation is completed. And when I see that the creature cannot make it, in spite of her good will, I draw her into my Will, in which she finds the virtue of multiplying one single act as many times as she wants, giving Me the glory, honor and love which others do not give to Me.

This is why I am preparing the Era of the living in my Will; and for all that creatures have not done in the past generations, and will not do, in this Era of my Will they will complete the love, the glory, the honor of the whole Creation, and I will give them astonishing and unheard-of graces. This is why I am calling you to live in my Will, and I whisper into your ear: ‘Jesus, I lay at your feet the adoration, the subjection of the whole human family; I place in your Heart the “I love You” of all; on your lips I impress my kiss in order to seal the kiss of all generations; I clasp You with my arms in order to clasp You with the arms of all, to bring You the glory of all the works of all creatures…’ And I feel in you the adoration, the ‘I love You’, the kiss, etc. of the whole human family. How could I not give to you the love, the kisses, the graces which I should give to the others?

Now, know my daughter, that what the creature does on earth is the capital that she forms for Heaven. Therefore, if she does little, she will have little; if much, she will have much. If one loved Me and glorified Me for ten, she will receive ten more contentments, corresponding to as much glory, and will be loved by Me ten times as much. If another loved Me and glorified Me for a hundred and for a thousand, she will receive contentments, love and glory for a hundred and for a thousand. In this way I will give to the Creation all that I have decided to give, and the Creation will give Me all that I must receive from them – and my Glory will be completed in everything.”  (L. Piccarreta, Book of Heaven, Volume 12, May 22, 1919)

A Little Insight into the Rounds…

Before I get to my little insight, I want to let you know that a few more of Fr. Iannuzzi’s talks have been uploaded at Radio Maria. There was one I couldn’t get to play but I was able to download it. Others I could play without downloading.

I have been listening to Frances Hogan’s talks on V 30 (so far there are only 4). These are very dense, super-rich passages. People new to the writings might feel a bit lost in them; it helps to have Frances explaining them even to those of us who have been around for a while. Frances spent her whole first talk for Volume 30 on the first passage alone, but she picked up the pace in subsequent talks.

I have most of the lines in these passages underlined and starred, but I just want to excerpt a little passage on the Rounds of Luisa, from December 8, 1931:

Then I continued with my usual round in the created things, to follow what the Divine Will had done in Creation; and—O! how beautiful and enchanting It seemed to me. Every single time I go around in It, I find Surprises that enrapture me, New things that I had not understood before, the Ancient and New Love of God that never changes. (L. Piccarreta, Book of Heaven, Volume 30, December 8, 1931)

One of Frances’ comments on this excerpt is that Luisa’s rounds are truly contemplative. I understood more clearly through this small passage that the Rounds of Creation are not so much meant to be an inventory of the things God has created, but the seeking of the Creator hidden in every corner of creation, a “little” game of Hide and Seek with God. We, the seekers, go Round in all times and places, looking for God, being continually surprised and delighted, filled with love, gratitude, and joy, each time the Divine Hider lets himself be found, popping out from behind a bush, a star, or a microbe. Seek and you shall find!

In the past I have found integrating the Rounds into my day-to-day life somewhat challenging, but this little insight I believe will help. The Rounds, seen as a child’s game where the focus is properly on the Creator rather than creation, are far less intimidating and infinitely more fun. I am also learning from Luisa herself through The Rounds of the Soul in the Divine Will which was penned and prayed regularly by her.

God be praised in all things! Let us pray and let us play! Fiat!
